Mission et Histoire

Notre mission

The Château de HAC is an exemplary architectural masterpiece of the golden age of the Duchy of Brittany. It was built in limestone of faluns and was very little altered over the centuries. It comprises two bodies of dwellings of different eras, the one located in the East preceding that built from 1440 to 1448 for Jean Hingant, familiar to the Duke of Brittany. It is flanked by six slender turrets, four of which are of unequal diameter. The frame was restored in 1684.

A restoration was undertaken in the years 1930 by Etienne Paillard.

In 2010, the restoration of the facades of the castle included the restitution of its joinery and the development of its stained glass windows. The Interior restoration, with a surface of 699 m², necessitated, in particular, the consolidation of the floors and the old painted decorations. In addition, sanitary facilities and networks have been developed with a view to opening up to the public. The restoration and the facilities were provided by a Chief Architect of the historic monuments.

Un peu d'histoire

Initially, the estate was an ancient hunting House of the Dukes of Brittany. It was once the preserve of the families of Hingant, Tournemine and Rieux.
